July 29th The Sill, National Landscape Discovery Centre, Bardon Mill, Hexham NE47 7AN.
This is the opening date for the new state of the art visitor centre on Hadrian’s Wall. I’m very happy to have my naturally dyed and plant printed silk scarves available to purchase in the new shop.
For this month you will find my naturally dyed and printed scarves at Serendipity in Marygate, Berwick upon Tweed.
April 8th St Abbs at Eyemouth Woolfest 10am -4pm. £25
I will be running a mini peg loom workshop at the event, so if you’re one of the many people who speak to me saying you have been given a loom but you’re not too sure how to use it, come and find out in the afternoon, making a wall hanging with natural coloured fleece and bright splashes of plant dyed colours! Places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
25th March Indigo and Shibori Sessions £10
56 Degrees North Creative Studios Spring Workshop Programme, Castlegate, Berwick upon Tweed.
This activity will run all day and you can book an hour slot in the day at a time to suit yourself. We will have an indigo vat on the go for you to either bring an item made from natural fibres like an old t-shirt or similar to upcycle, or purchase a cotton bag, cushion cover or a silk scarf from the tutor to dye. Everything else is ready provided. Stitch, tie, fold and clamp your own design, dip into the indigo and watch the colour develop in front of you! Take home your new item to proudly use and wear! Please book by contacting me through www.cornhillcrafts.co.uk times will be confirmed, but probably the day will run between 10:30 and 4pm.
There will be refreshments too!
